Goizee collects information to provide a better, safer, and localized experience for all users. The categories of information we collect include:
- Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address, display name, and password credentials.
- Location Data: Goizee accesses your device's geographical location (via GPS or manual input) to suggest nearby neighborhoods, cities, and listing radius coordinates when you search or post listings.
- Photos and Media: If you grant permission, Goizee accesses your camera and photo library to allow you to upload images directly to your item listings.
- Device Tokens: We collect and register push notification tokens (such as Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens) to send you real-time alerts, system updates, and listing status notifications.
- Messages and Saved Content: We process messages, saved items, quick replies, favorites, and other content you choose to create or save in the app.
- Subscription and Entitlement Information: When you use Goizee Premium, we receive and store information needed to activate and maintain your subscription, such as the selected plan, platform, product identifier, transaction or subscription identifier, entitlement status, renewal or expiration dates, and billing-provider response data. Payment card details are handled by the applicable payment provider and are not stored by Goizee.
- Usage and Diagnostics: We may process device, app performance, crash, and feature-usage information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve Goizee.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To enable, moderate, and publish user-generated listings.
- To suggest nearby search matches and calculate proximity filters.
- To notify you about changes to your listings, messages, or account alerts.
- To maintain the security, integrity, and safety of our community (using Trust Scores and moderator reviews).
- To provide messaging, saved items, quick replies, notifications, Premium benefits, subscription management, and customer support.
- To verify purchases and subscription status with Apple, Google, Stripe, or another authorized payment or app-store provider, and to prevent fraud or unauthorized access.
- To understand app performance and usage, diagnose crashes, protect the service, and improve our features.
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Goizee does not sell your personal data. Your listing details (title, description, price, condition, approximate location name, and listing photos) are visible publicly to all users browsing the marketplace. We do not expose your precise GPS coordinates, email, or sensitive account information to the public.
We share limited information with service providers that help us operate Goizee, such as hosting, authentication, messaging, notifications, analytics, customer support, and payment or app-store services. These providers may process information only to provide services to Goizee and under their own privacy terms. Apple and Google process in-app subscription payments under their respective terms; Stripe may process web subscription payments where enabled.
4. Data Security
We implement standard secure practices, including transport-layer security (HTTPS) encryption, to protect your data during transmission. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Your Choices and Subscription Information
You can manage device permissions through your device settings, update account information in Goizee, and request account or data deletion by contacting us. You can manage or cancel an Apple subscription through Apple’s subscription settings, an Android subscription through Google Play subscription settings, and a web subscription through the billing-management option provided by Goizee. Cancellation normally stops renewal but does not necessarily provide a refund for the current period. Refund requests are handled by the applicable billing provider, subject to its policies.
